Windows 10 to launch new update to protect your data from ransomware

The great firm “Microsoft”is again bringing some security-related changes inits Windows 10 with the next Fall Creators Update. These exciting changes will prevent (hide) your important files from harmful online threats such as ransomware. The upcoming update can be launched in the month of September.

A preview of the changes,including a new controlled folder access feature is now available for the Windows 10 testers.Yesterday, Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16232 for PC that includes some of the new security features coming with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, has been released. The releasing of Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15228 is also in the list and is coming soon.

This is especially designed to allow only the specific apps to access or to read/ write to a folder.If enabled, the default list will not allow the apps to access the desktop, movies, pictures and document folders.

Head of Microsoft’s Windows Insiders program, Dona Sarkar explains that “Whatever changes are made by the apps to the files within a particular protected folders regularly monitored by the Controlled folder”.This feature will send the users a notification message to notify that the app has attempted to make changes to the protected files resulting into the blacklisting of the app. This upcoming feature “Controlled folder”is especially designed for the end-to-end security against the viruses attacks and ransomware affects.
